We have crafted this FAQ page to answer many of the frequently asked questions we were asked along the way.

What Is FileMaker?

FileMaker delivers innovative software to easily create custom business apps for the iPad, iPhone, Windows, Mac and the web. FileMaker also has the ability to work simultaneously across all the above platforms

How long have we been working with FileMaker?​

At Polarsun Creative we have using and building with FileMaker for approximately 10 years. We use FileMaker internally to manage our own information systems so we have a good understanding of what works on a day-to-day basis

How long does it take to build a system in FileMaker?

This will obviously vary depending on complexity and the amount of information involved. This can be as little as a few short days in some cases, but we will be able to give you an outline and timescale before we begin so you know what is happening.

We do have some projects which are constantly on-going and are modified and updated as the company progresses.

How much will a FileMaker system cost?

This really is an impossible question to answer as the complexity and integration of some systems obviously require more time spent in creating the solution specific to your company needs.

We do have some pre-built systems which would cost less and only require customisation to suit your particular needs

Do you outsource your projects?

No. All of our design and coding work is performed by our in-house team based in Skegness, Lincolnshire.

Where can you work geographically?

The benefit to the internet is that we are able to work literally anywhere in the world. We have created systems for local companies as well as US-based companies!

Can you connect to my existing accounts software?

Accounts software is now becoming more and more sophisticated and as such, is a useful tool for many companies. We have created systems which extracted data from Sage and also others which contain a live link to Xero Accounts to ‘push’ and ‘pull’ data

I have an old system, will your solution be able to replace it?

We have created solutions where an existing system is now no longer compatible with operating systems. We have also integrated Access and Excel spreadsheets into a new solution which simplified processes immediately.

I’m not sure a new system will benefit me, do you have any examples or can you show me more?

Yes! We have short videos on our YouTube channel which give a better idea on some of the solutions we have previously created and their impact on business. We are also happy to demonstrate to you what we can do and at the same time, discuss with you how we would be able to work with you built a solution for you.
